Collection: Fictional Landscape

As a furniture designer, his years of study and work in the field have stimulated a strong interest in Chinese traditional architecture. Fictional Landscape is an avant-garde creation series using computer-aided design and 3D printing to reinterpret the visual characteristics of oriental culture, distinct forms, concise and vivid landscapes.

Shixiong's creative process has always been attracted to Chinese architectural culture, especially when he studied in Beijing which was familiar also unfamiliar to him. Such a feeling was strikingly strong. The tall, red, wall seems always to exist as the basic color tone of his life.

"Like many people, although I lived in a county as a child, my memory of the country really fixed me in the image of these classical buildings, and I gradually became convinced that this is a common and deeply rooted phenomenon above this land. "

Artist Shixiong Wang founded the studio named "March" in 2021, showing his attitude towards art and design. Art seeks resonance and design seeks value, all of which need to “forward”.

Different from the creation of traditional media, artists with design backgrounds have different understandings of “works”. While creating works, he is also looking for value through his production process as design and create.

He said that this stemmed from the inertia of a designer. In his opinion, the value of art lies in being seen and understood, not the "art" that is looked up to. He hopes that these works, like the furniture he designed, can fit into people’s daily life. Even without the so-called function.
